Wing Commander David Forbes presents the Mayor Councillor Peter Rush with a cheque for £500 towards the Mayor’s Charity
Wing Commander David Forbes was guest of honour at Rochdale Town Hall this month, when he presented the Mayor Councillor Peter Rush with a cheque for £500 towards the Mayor’s Charity.
The donation was made from the Duchy of Lancaster’s Benevolent Fund and will go towards this year’s Mayor’s charities – the Rochdale Branch of Parkinson's UK and other local charities.
The Mayor, Councillor Peter Rush said he is very grateful for the funds: "I would like to thank the Duchy of Lancaster for this extremely generous support. It is a significant sum which will go alongside the other money being raised during my Mayoral year to be passed to local charities and used where it is needed most.
"This is another example of how organisations, businesses and individuals are backing my charity appeal and I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to them all."
If you would like to make a donation, email dorothy.johnstone@rochdale.gov.uk or call 01706 924773.
