AS and A Level dance students from Rochdale Sixth Form College visit The Lowry Theatre
A group of AS and A Level dance students from Rochdale Sixth Form College recently visited The Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays to see the renowned Rambert Dance Company.
The students enjoyed the world première of The Castaways by Barak Marshall - a humorous and uplifting tale set to a vibrant mix of Yiddish music and popular American tunes. The show also featured What Wild Ecstasy by Marc Baldwin, and the heart stopping and emotional Monolith by Tim Rushton.
In addition the students enjoyed L'Apres-midi d'un faune, an all-time classic set to music by Debussy, the hugely enjoyable.
Gabriella Hill, Dance Teacher at Rochdale Sixth Form College, said: “The students were well-mannered and mature and demonstrated how much of a credit they are to the college and the Visual and Creative Arts department. The students expressed great enjoyment from appreciating the professional works and displayed their evaluative skills through analysing and discussing their favourite piece of choreography which we were very pleased with.”
