Number One Riverside wins a second award

Date published: 09 November 2013

Number One Riverside,  the six-storey council building, has won the award for ‘Best Mixed Use Building’ in the Concrete Society Awards.

The news follows Number One’s success a week ago, when it won the ‘Building of the Year’ crown at the Manchester Chamber of Commerce awards.

Deputy Leader of the Council, Councillor Peter Williams, said he was delighted at the news and added: “Number One is a truly unique building which, as well as providing essential services for people in the borough, is the jewel in the crown of the on-going regeneration which is transforming Rochdale town centre."

Number One Riverside is a multi-purpose building that houses a public library, a ‘one-stop-shop’ for residents and offices. The building also includes a coffee shop and has a unit for future restaurant use. It has meeting and conference facilities which are available for community use, as well as providing office space for partner organisations.
