Gwen Shepard has retired from her job as cook at Beech house school after 28 years
Gwen Shepard has retired from her job as cook at Beech house school after 28 years. Gwen, who has worked in the same kitchen for the entirety of her career, was the cook at Beech House and at Glebe House.
A special assembly was held for Gwen at the school to celebrate her 28 years of work.
During her time at the school, Gwen cooked over 5000 nutritious meals for pupils and always encouraged them to eat healthy.
As part of her efforts at encouraging healthy eating, Gwen helped the school win the Golden Grin award on numerous occasions. The Golden Grin award is presented to places which show ongoing commitment to healthy eating and oral health.
