Questions invited about local healthcare

Date published: 07 November 2013

NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group’s (HMR CCG) Governing Body is meeting on Friday 15 November and the public is invited to attend.

The monthly governing body meetings are where official business is discussed and formal decisions are made about everything from policies to which health services will be commissioned.

Public questions are welcome and can either be submitted through the website (www.hmr.nhs.uk, under ‘about us’, then ‘governing body meetings’) or asked during the open questions slot at beginning of the meeting.

The next meeting takes place on Friday 15 November, 10.30am-1pm, in room Hollingworth C, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, OL16 1XU.

Decisions are expected to be made about our integrated care plan, the borough’s winter plan and the CCG’s business plan. There will also be discussions about finance, quality and performance.

We would ask people who have questions to ask at the meeting to arrive half an hour before the meeting, at 10am, so we are able to accurately capture the question as well as contact details to ensure a full response is provided. Our engagement lead will also be available to discuss any other queries. Please report to reception on arrival at Number One Riverside.

Dr Chris Duffy, local GP and Chairman of NHS HMR CCG, said: “As an accountable NHS organisation, we have a duty to make sure what we do and how we make our decisions is accessible to the people of Rochdale. After all, it’s your health services we are planning.

“We regularly welcome several members of the public to our meetings and I would encourage anyone who would like to find out more about what the clinical commissioning group is about and how decisions are made to attend one of our meetings. We welcome the opportunity to answer public questions, so please do let us know if there’s anything you would like us to help you with.”

The agenda and papers for the meeting will be available on the ‘about us’ section of our website www.hmr.nhs.uk in advance of the meeting.

Responses to previous public questions and a full schedule of governing body meetings can also be found on the governing body pages of our website.
