Marie Curie mini pots of care

Children at St. John’s will be taking part in the Marie Curie’s Mini Pots of Care fundraising activity.

They will each be given a plant pot and a daffodil bulb to plant in the pot to grow and care for. They will also design a pot wrapper to put around their plant pot. A donation is requested from each child and the money will go to help Marie Curie provide care for terminally ill people.

Rainbow Trust

Children have been selling toys and home-made items in aid of the Rainbow Family Trust, Francis House Children’s Hospice.

CAFOD

We raised £103.60p during the Faith Week for CAFOD.

Anti-bullying week

Anti-bullying week will run week commencing 18 November. During this period children will learn about the implications of bullying and to think of how they should be kind to each other and avoid the suffering of others.

Parent/teacher meetings

Parent/teacher meetings will take place on Monday, 18 November and Friday,

22 November in the school hall. On this occasion we are involving the pupils so that it will be a 3-way meeting, i.e. between teacher, parent and pupil.

Staff will be available next week to sign up for appointments, you will be given a day and time for your session - please keep to these appointments.

Coffee afternoon

We will be holding a coffee afternoon in the school hall, 2pm on Friday,

15 November to raise funds for our children’s Christmas party and other events.

This is our own “Children in Need” party, please bring your family and friends, sit and relax with a lovely brew and a home-made cake whilst waiting for your children.

Parishioners of St. John’s are also invited to join us at the coffee afternoon.

Rochdale Festival

Well done to the children who took part in the clog dancing and Haka performance at the Rochdale Festival.

Robinwood activity weekend

Children who attended Robinwood during the half term break had a fantastic time. Thank you to the staff who gave up their time to chaperone the children.

Golden book awards

The Golden Book awards are for children have tried their best in all areas with politeness and respect.

Car park safety

Please be careful when using the car park. Be aware that children and parents will be walking through and great care must be taken by both car users and pedestrians.

Please do not use the Nye Bevan car park; this is for their staff and patients only.
