Littleborough Community Primary School

Our school 'Open Day' is to be held on Tuesday 26 November from 2pm onwards.

Please enter school via the top car park entrance off Calderbrook Road. You will be greeted and given a prospectus, then given a guided tour around the school. You will see classes in action and the school band will be entertaining. We look forward to meeting you.

On the last day of half term we welcomed over 200 parents and friends to our Global Awareness Assembly, where each year group explained about their recent charity work. Each Class or year group have chosen a charity to support, after researching the needs of different areas of the world. Some of the money raised so far has helped to plant trees in Malawi, adopt an elephant, supply vaccines, support the Britich Heart Foundation and fund the production of honey.

Individual school photographs will be taken during the week beginning 11 November. Reception and Y6 will also have aclass photo as it is their first/last year in school. A letter should have been brought home to inform you which day your child's photo will be taken.

This term we will once again be holding our 'Cake Decorating Competition'. This will be later in December and further datails will follow.

Rehersals are now underway for our Christmas productions. Please help your child to learn their words and songs, to make these a great success.

The M6 Theatre Company were in school on Monday 4 November to entertain Y2 - Y4. They performed 'Grandpas Railway' and the children were very impressed, especially with the moving trains! Thank you to the company.

This week we have been talking toYear 6 who are looking forward to starting their new topic this week. They are going to be studying Pyramids and Mexico. A suggested trip to visit the Pyramids has unfortunately been unsuccessful.

The KS2 production of 'Shrek and Surewood' is taking up lunch times as well as rehersals after school, but Y6 are rising to the challenge.

Many children from Y6 have put their names down to take part in the residential to Scotland next June. This is very exciting for many of the children as it will be the first time they have stayed away from home. Don't panick you will have a fantastic time, and will remember the trip for the rest of your life.

A trip to the pantomime in Halifax during the last week of term will bring a hectic half term to a close for Class 13 & 14.
