Council investigating Littleborough Cricket Club firework incident
Date published: 04 November 2013
Rochdale Council is investigating what happened at a bonfire held at Littleborough Cricket Club on Sunday Night (3 November) during which a young girl was hit by a firework.
A spokesperson for Rochdale Council said: “We are aware of this incident and are currently investigating.”
Littleborough Cricket Club has not yet released a statement regarding the incident and has said they will only do so when a full investigation has taken place.
It is understood that fireworks went into the crowd during the display and hit a young girl who then required first aid treatment.
The young girl spent the night in Manchester Children's Burns Unit and was allowed home after treatment. She had to return today for a change of dressing.
