Police are appealing for the public's help to trace a man from Rochdale who has gone missing from home.

Max Riley, aged 85, was last seen at about 3.30pm on Saturday 3 November 2013 on Halifax Road in Smithybridge, near the Spa garage.

Max frequently walks around Hollingworth Lake in Littleborough and could have made his way over there over the weekend.

Max suffers from Alzheimer’s and it is not believed he has his medication with him.

He is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, he has grey/black receding hair, slim build and wears glasses.

Max was possibly wearing a burgundy and blue windjammer coat, navy blue trousers tucked in socks and a blue cloth sailor type cap with a ‘STA SCHOONER’ badge on the front.

Detective Sergeant Andy Duncan from Rochdale division, said: “Officers and Max's family are obviously greatly concerned for his welfare. He is an elderly man who has been missing since Saturday.

"Max could have been confused and lost and we would urge anyone who may have seen him to make contact with us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information about Max's whereabouts should call police on 101.
