SACRE Event 2013 for Rochdale Schools
Date published: 04 November 2013
The annual SACRE Celebration of Faith event was held at Siddal Moor Sports College just before half-term with over 20 teams from schools across the Borough attending.
All the schools had produced art work based on faith, with some schools focusing on specific religions, whilst others celebrated faith across many religions and within society itself.
Archdeacon Cherry Vann and Ghulam Shazad (Rochdale Council of Mosques) both talked to the students about the importance of understanding the shared values across different religions. The new SACRE curriculum for Rochdale was also launched by Peter Owen at the event.
Each school then had the opportunity to present their artwork and explain how they had learnt about faith over the past month.
The quality of work was outstanding and is on show at Siddal Moor until 8 November.
