I wear my Poppy in solemn reflection and remembrance of all those who have died and have served in our Armed Forces
Councillor Alan McCarthy, Rochdale Council Lead Member for the Armed Forces, explains why the poppy is important: “I wear my poppy in solemn reflection and remembrance of all those who have died and have served in our armed forces since the start of the Great War, this includes our veterans and our present serving armed forces personnel.
"All have, and continue to put themselves in harms way to protect our nation, they have ensured our freedom, for that they have my upmost gratitude and respect.”
