Shetland pony rescued
Date published: 30 October 2013
A Shetland pony that had been running around for about two weeks has been rescued by Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary.
Jay Fletcher, Bleakholt Trustee, said: "The police gave permission for us to catch it. It wasn't easy as it was frightened.
"The police closed the road stopping traffic on a busy roundabout."
The pony believed to be only about nine months old is being cared for by Bleakholt stable staff.
Jay added: "He has been washed, fed, vet checked and will now live his life at the Sanctuary."
