Lloyds Bank reopens with positive feedback from customers

Date published: 25 October 2013

Lloyds Bank in Rochdale Town Centre reopened on Wednesday 23 October at new premises and has received positive feedback from locals.

The bank, which is now located at 58 Yorkshire Street, moved to the new premises to create "a more ideal place for people to bank". The previous building was old and situated over three floors and hence was not practical for customers.

Bank Manager, Vishal Desai said: “We are really pleased. We have received positive feedback from customers and people have said they are enjoying coming in and banking with us.”

Since the re-opening, Mr Desai described footfall as busy. He said: “It was a good re-opening and we were busy as expected. The bank shut on Friday (18 October) so there has been no Lloyds in Rochdale since we reopened."

For the grand re-opening, staff at the bank put on a breakfast for staff and customers. A caricaturist was on hand to draw pictures for children and balloons were also being made on site.

“We did the best we could on the day,” said Mr Desai.

Mayor Peter Rush attended the reopening along with Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk, Councillor Colin Lambert and Councillor Farooq Ahmed.
