Weekend changes to Metrolink services

Metrolink passengers are advised to check their services before travelling this weekend due to improvement works.

Football fans travelling to the Manchester United game at Old Trafford at 3pm on Saturday should be aware that the Eccles line will not be running. Extra trams will run on the Altrincham and East Didsbury lines before and after the game. Metrolink will also be running an additional service between Piccadilly and St Werburgh’s Road.

Passengers can pick up the East Didsbury service from city centre stops including Victoria, Shudehill and Market Street.

Saturday 26 October

The following tram services will operate:

  • Altrincham to Piccadilly 
  • Ashton-under-Lyne to Bury 
  • East Didsbury to Rochdale Railway Station 

The following replacement bus services will operate:

  • Eccles to Piccadilly via MediaCityUK 

Sunday 27 October

The following tram services will operate:

  • Ashton-under-Lyne to Bury 
  • Rochdale Railway Station to Piccadilly 

The following replacement bus services will operate:

  • Altrincham to Piccadilly 
  • East Didsbury to Victoria 
  • Eccles to Piccadilly via MediaCityUK 

Replacement buses do not call at Shudehill, Market Street or Pomona. Passengers for Pomona should use replacement bus stops at Exchange Quay.

Passengers should buy tickets from a Metrolink ticket machine before boarding replacement buses.
