Donations wanted for Springhill Hospice Christmas Fair

Date published: 23 October 2013

Organisers of the Springhill Hospice Christmas Fair are asking that anybody wishing to donate goods should please contact them as soon as possible.

Alison McGuigan, Fundraising Lead at Springhill, says: “The success of our fairs owes a great deal to the amount of items donated and, of course, the quality of those items. Last year we raised a phenomenal amount at both our Spring and Christmas Fairs and this year we also had our Yesteryear Festival which was an amazing day. It never fails to amaze us how the local community really gets behind our events, and we are always looking for raffle or tombola prizes.

“Unfortunately we cannot accept second-hand electrical goods, but we really need help with our other stalls, particularly our home bake and bottle stalls as they are two of our most popular stalls at every fair.”

Anybody wishing to donate goods should take them direct to the Hospice on Broad Lane, or contact the Fundraising Office on 01706 649920 to arrange a convenient time for collection.

Entrance to the Fair, which will include Santa’s Grotto and the usual selection of games, raffles, new and second-hand goods, is completely free but donations will gladly be received on the door. There will also be a selection of third party stalls, with people selling anything from socks to sweet bouquets, and cards to cupcakes.

Alison concluded: “This is always such a lovely, festive day, with something for all of the family, I really hope people can come to support us.”

Springhill Hospice Christmas Fair takes place at the Hospice on Sunday 17 November from 10:00am until 3:00pm. A free park and ride service will be operating to and from Gordon Riggs, Kingsway from 9.30am on the day, and guests are encouraged to use this free service.
