Redundancy for Rochdale resident Andrea Birch has given her the vision for a new career.
Andrea was made redundant earlier this year and took up a funded support offer to complete her Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) qualification, which provides an introduction to teaching and training adults, and look at new ways that she could push forward with her career aspirations.
Andrea has now finished her qualification and got a part-time job with Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council as a library assistant.
Andrea said: “I’m really enjoying my new job and by working part-time I get the added benefit of being able to also start setting up my own business. I’m really looking forward to what the future has to hold.”
Karen Humphreys, Contracts Manager for the Unemployed at Training @ Hopwood, advised Andrea.
