Community groups deadline for Rotary cash

Date published: 22 October 2013

Charities and community groups are urged to apply for up to £1,000 cash from the Rotary Club of Middleton’s Dragon's Den initiative for specific projects as the closing date for applications is 1 November 2013.

The Rotary Club of Middleton raises around £11,000 a year through its various activities, including Christmas street collections with Santa and his sleigh and other fund gathering initiatives. The club is now urging groups to get in touch and apply for this cash.

The money raised is distributed to local charities and groups seeking financial support for a broad range of causes.

Stuart Sawle, President of The Rotary Club of Middleton, said: “The Rotary Club of Middleton would like to urge community groups of all sizes to get in touch and apply for funding by 1 November 2013. We normally get about 14-20 applicants a year. We then shortlist the applicants who are then asked to make a short presentation to the club in December. After that we have to make a decision on the merits of each application and the benefit to our community.”

To apply the Dragon's Den Application Form 2013 must be submitted to the Rotary Club of Middleton by the 1 November 2013 deadline. The application form can be requested by sending an email to: middletonrotarycs@yahoo.co.uk
