Children involved in local churches enjoy the Big Party
If My People held a big party yesterday afternoon (Saturday 19 October) for children involved with churches in Rochdale.
If My People is run by Jan Smith, Lucy Hudson, Margaret Smith and Jodie Madden and helps Rochdale churches host local events.
Jan Smith said: "We hold this event once a year for the children involved with Rochdale churches. They all get invited and usually bring their families so it usually turns out to be a good day."
Children were treated to entertainment from the Big Ministries, an entertainment group that provides 'fun, challenging and interactive activities for God focused events', puppets, dancing, singing and games.
As well as the party, the group held training sessions in the morning for people involved in Sunday schools and holiday clubs at the churches.
Jan added: "About 40 people came to the training this morning and we hold those sessions four times a year."
150 people attended the event at Champness Hall on Drake Street, which was aimed at primary school aged children.
“The fact that the hall is full shows that it is a successful event,” added Jan.
