Celebrate Halloween in Norden and help raise money for Winston’s Wish
Date published: 18 October 2013
The Great Big Halloween Portrait Marathon, a family fun photography event, will be taking place in studios across the country to raise money for Winston’s Wish, the national charity for bereaved children.
Norden Studio will be one of the studios hosting Halloween photography sessions as part of the event on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October between 12:00 Saturday and 2.30pm Sunday. Graham Sivills, the owner/photographer, will be taking photos for 26 hours non stop, a marathon in every sense of the word.
For a £1 donation people can get a photo taken as well as receiving a free electronic photo or print.
Last year Graham ran a similar event raising £1,200 for Macmillans and this year he hopes to double that for Winston’s Wish.
He says “I know it’s crazy but I think this charity is really worthwhile and it’s a chance for me to put something back into the community. I am hoping we can get all manner of people to come into the studio where we will have face painting and some fancy dress. Sports Teams, clubs and societies, workmates, families and individuals. “
“I’m also planning to run an on-line competition after the event where I’ll post up the pictures taken and the public can all vote on the best Halloween outfit. To be in with a chance of winning the competition you just need to have donated to Winston’s Wish and had a photo taken at the event (and be as cute or scary as possible!). So please come along and support a really good cause.”
For children, Graham is also running a pumpkin carving competition. For a 50p donation, children can take their carved pumpkins to the studio from 24 to 26 October and they will be judged on Sunday 27 with prizes for the best three entries.
