£2000 guitar stolen in Heywood burglary

Date published: 11 April 2008

A guitar worth more than £2,000 was stolen during a burglary in Heywood last weekend.
Between 10pm on Friday 6 April 2008 and 7am on Saturday 7 April 2008, thieves forced open the conservatory door of a house on Honiton Close in Heywood.

Once inside the house, the thieves stole a guitar, laptop computer, a handbag and a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene.

The stolen guitar is a unique orange coloured Gretsch Brian Setzer 6120 worth more than £2,000.

Sergeant Steve Hanlon at Rochdale Police Station, said: "The guitar is quite unusual and is worth a lot of money. It is obviously worth more to the victim who is desperate to see the guitar returned safely.

"It may be that the thief tries to sell the guitar on to make money so I would appeal to anyone who is offered a guitar similar to the one pictured from someone who is not a licenced dealer to contact police as soon as possible."

Anyone with information is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
