KYP Awards

Date published: 02 October 2013

The achievement of learners from across the borough was recognised at the KYP annual awards ceremony.

The ceremony celebrates the success of learners on KYP programmes during the last 12 months who achieved a wide variety of qualifications, ranging from Entry level 1 through to Advanced Apprenticeships at Level 3.

The evening was hosted by Zulf Ahmed, Chief Executive of KYP, and certificates were presented by Simon Danczuk (MP for Rochdale), Jim Taylor (Chief Executive of Rochdale MBC) and Jill Nagy (Chief Executive of Rochdale Training).

Zulf Ahmed said: “We are very proud of the achievement and progress that our learners have made. They have increased their skills and knowledge and are now in a stronger position to be able to compete in the job market or carry out their job roles more competently. I would like to congratulate all the learners and wish them success in the future.”

Simon Danczuk MP said: “I was delighted to attend KYP's awards evening and I enjoyed meeting all the students who had achieved so much. The pre-employment training and the apprenticeship courses really are preparing people for the world of work. These are exactly the type of programmes we need in Rochdale and long may their work continue.”

Jim Taylor congratulated those who had completed their apprenticeships and said: “I was pleased to see how the range of courses on offer had increased in the last twelve months. Learners were so pleased with their achievements and I was delighted to share in their success.”

Jill Nagy stated: “KYP have helped so many residents of Rochdale, from all age groups, to achieve a qualification that it is a pleasure to present certificates to their learners and help celebrate their success.”
