LEAF needs your help

Date published: 11 September 2013

Littleborough Events and Associations Forum (LEAF) is in the running to win £500 towards events in Littleborough and they need your votes.

LEAF was set up four years ago and is run by 15 volunteers, with the aim of developing the social and cultural life in the community.

The group organise events such as Litteborough Rushbearing Festival, the Pennine Proms, Lancashire Night, and the Christmas lights switch on.

The group is a necessity for the community, as events such as the Rushbearing Festival have been run for the last 23 years, and need a committee such as this to organise it to a high standard.

Over 1,000 people attend each of the events organised by the group.

Stephen Lister, Chairman of the group, said: “We want to continue contributing to the social and cultural life in the town. Littleborough is recognised as being a tourist centre, we want to enhance this status and let it continue into the future.

"A donation would benefit the local community as they can enjoy taking part in local events, which bring the community together and allow local people to feel proud of where they live. Events also benefit the local economy, and boost tourism in the town."
