Our Open Evening for potential new students and families takes place on Thursday 26 September from 6pm until 8pm and there is a chance to take a tour around our new school build on Saturday 28 September between 10am and 12 noon. To book a place on one of the tours, please visit our school website at www.falingepark.com or contact us by telephone on 01706 631246. The Head's Welcome to our school takes place on our Open Evening at 6pm and again at 7pm and there is chance to view our engaging and personalized curriculum in greater detail.

Drama Club begins next Tuesday for learners of all years and will be led by Mr. Lomax and Mr. Mvula. Everyone is made welcome and it takes place in the Drama Studio from 2.45pm until 4pm every week. For more details, see Mr. Mvula. Our new Year 7 learners are particularly welcome.

Songwriting Club takes place every Monday and is also open to all years. Mr. Dalby has handed out letters to pupils who took part last year but new Year 7 learners are always made welcome. For more details, please come along to the CEPA Office at break times or lunchtimes to find out more.

This weekend sees fourteen students from across the years pay a visit to Saltaire Mill in Bradford and the National Media Museum as part of a Creative, Expressive and Performing Arts Visit to Arts establishments in the North West. The visit includes lunch at Salts Diner and a tour of the David Hockney Gallery and a look at the temporary exhibitions and permanent displays of the National Media Museum, including the current ‘Moving Stories’ Children’s’ Literature Exhibition.

Tickets for our Arts and Curry Night are now on sale and many thanks to those who have bought tickets so far. The evening takes place on Friday 22 of November from 6pm until 8pm and tickets cost £5.00 including food and entertainment. There will be a range of curry dishes, Indian snacks and so forth to try and an evening of music, dance, drama and quizzes. The evening is perfect family entertainment for all friends of the school.

Tickets are also available for our Year 9 Drama at Wycoller Hall on Friday 25 of October 2013 when our students will be performing several ghostly dramas in the grounds of the historically haunted Wycoller Hall in Lancashire. If you would like to join us on this dark night, tickets are limited and transport arrangements can be made. For more details, please contact Mr. De Courcey in the CEPA Office.

The School Photography Company will be in school on Monday 16 September to take photos of Year 7 and Year 11 students. Proofs will be sent home as soon as they arrive in school and the photographs will be available to buy directly from the company either by post or online.

Congratulations to Abdul Ayub (Yr. 11), Jodie Maguire (Yr. 7) and Courtney Brannick who were the winners of our ‘Summer Heatwave’ CEPA Faculty Summer holidays competition. The learners had to create a piece of visual or performing art using the theme ‘heatwave’. The quality of entries was impressive and we were pleased with the effort learners made in their own time. Thanks to everyone who was involved.

Homework should now be in the process of being regularly set each day at school and we ask parents to support the process by checking student planners/homework diaries each week and signing them. If you have any enquiries about homework tasks or how to support your child in this process, please contact your child’s community tutor in the first instance.

Many thanks to Scarlet Arch who came into school this week to talk to our students across all the years about our new look for school and to remind them of our ethos and values as an establishment. As we move into our new school shortly, our rebranded look will be seen across the building.

Learners in Years 11 and 10 have received special assemblies on their progress ‘fight paths’ and will be able to see the progress they are making clearly every lesson. If you have any questions about this process or would like to discuss it further then please contact Mr. Ward or Ms. Clarke.

Music Clubs and extra-curricular activities have now been displayed in the latest ‘Create!’ Arts Newsletter and posted to community tutors. We welcome all new members and you should see Ms. Williams for more details. Music peripatetic lessons have started and learners should regularly check the Music department noticeboards to confirm their music lesson times. Please ensure that you arrive to your lessons punctually.
