Truck sunk in school playing field
A truck, carrying what was believed to be gravel sunk whilst driving over a playing field at St Peter's School on Muriel Street, Kingsway Rochdale.
After the truck sank, onlookers witnessed the gravel being removed from the truck by hand before heavy lifting equipment was brought in to remove the truck.
Residents of that area believe this now shows that the ground is unsafe and should not be used as a school playing field. Locals would much rather see the area transformed into a cark park or dropping off facility for the school to help alleviate the traffic congestion on Kings Road and Muriel Street during school hours.
Asked to comment, Rochdale Council said it is aware that a truck sunk and that the ground was made good after the truck was removed.
