Date published: 05 August 2013
The Reverend Canon Sharon Jones (left) and Church Warden Susan Knight don their hard hats and get down to business
Work has begun on the complete refurbishment of the parish room at St Andrew’s Church, Dearnley and Smithy Bridge.
The scheme, mounted at a cost of around £115,000 and scheduled to last three months, will not only provide a first-rate facility for church members and a range of existing community groups and activities, but will also serve as a community centre that extends a wider welcome to all who live within the parishes served by St Andrew’s.
