Rochdale’s Mayor and Mayoress, Councillors Jim and Jane Gartside played host to their counterparts in other Greater Manchester boroughs as part of a series of Civic Tours.

The guests were given a guided tour of both the Town Hall and Number 1 Riverside’s  environmentally-friendly features, including the roof garden.

The Mayor and Mayoress also showed their visitors around the Co-Operative Museum, St. Chad’s Church and Touchstones.

After the tour, Mayor Gartside, said: “Having already enjoyed the hospitality of our counterparts in Bolton, Oldham, Tameside and Trafford, it was our pleasure to welcome our fellow Mayor and Mayoresses to the borough.

"We were particularly proud to show them around Number 1 Riverside, given that we are setting the standard for future developments that contribute to greener living.”
