Fatal accident closed M62

The M62 westbound was closed between junctions 19 and 20 after a man was hit by a lorry this morning (Thursday 11 April).
Officers attended and discovered a man had been involved in a collision with a lorry.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
10.00am
Queueing traffic westbound from J20 A627(M) Rochdale to J19, A6046 (Heywood), because of a serious accident involving a lorry and a pedestrian.
Diversion in operation - follow the solid circle symbols via the A627(M) to J2, then the Slattocks Link Road, A664 Rochdale Road and A6046 Hollin Lane.
Congestion to J22, A672 (Rishworth Moor).
11.00am
The carriageway has now been reopened - be aware there are tailbacks, drive with caution.
