Celebrity chef, Andrew Nutter, helps launch Blackpool Tower summer season

Date published: 09 April 2013

To launch the 119th summer season, Rochdale based celebrity chef, Andrew Nutter, created five culinary masterpieces to serve to guests at the top of the Blackpool Tower, one to match each attraction inside the famous building; The Illusion, An Adventure, Trick or Treat, The Waltz and By Eck’ It’s Good.

As well as enjoying tastes from across the region, guests sipped an exquisite SkyWalk cocktail as they watched the sun set over the Irish Sea, before being wowed as the 518ft tall building was lit up to reveal its new sparkling image, made up of over 20,000 lights. This is only the second time in the Tower’s 119 year history that it’s been completely illuminated, brightening up the Blackpool skyline.

This year the Blackpool Tower Circus, one of the world’s finest examples of a Victorian circus, which hasn’t missed a show in its 119 year history, is hosting more world class performances than ever before. The new show, Around The World With Mooky and Boo, will take visitors on a trip around the globe, before ending with its world famous water finale; one of only four in existence.

Guests at the event were also treated to a heritage tour, which touched on the Victorian legacy of the attraction, as well as a one-off Dungeon show which gave attendees a taste of the brand new ‘fear is a funny thing’ proposition.

The Blackpool Tower was built in 1894 and is home to five attractions: The Blackpool Tower Eye and SkyWalk, The Blackpool Tower Ballroom, The Blackpool Tower Circus, The Blackpool Tower Dungeon and Jungle Jim’s.
