Rochdale Boroughwide Housing shortlisted for the UK housing awards 2013

Date published: 15 February 2013

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) has been short-listed for the UK Housing Awards 2013.

The awards, which recognise outstanding work by housing organisations to improve the lives of people in their communities, are organised by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) and Inside Housing magazine.

This year’s awards attracted more than 300 entries from all over the UK.

RBH, with its new mutual housing model, is one of just six in the country selected for the Business Transformation of the Year award.

RBH has recently won awards for work with young people and excellence in employee ownership and supporting trainees.

Gareth Swarbrick, Chief Executive of RBH said: "Throughout our business transformation there has been a firm focus on the positive impact of our mutual vision, to use our exceptional position as a mutual to help to create inspiring communities which enhance the lives of the people who live and work in them."

The winner of the award will be revealed at a ceremony in London on 16 April, hosted by Great British Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins.

CIH chief executive Grainia Long said: “The UK Housing Awards are about celebrating the dedication and commitment of organisations and professionals across the industry”.

“They not only recognise success, they also give housing providers the opportunity to learn from each others’ excellent work and innovation.

“I’d like to congratulate all the organisations that have been shortlisted. Their work can inspire us all.”
