Man killed in fatal RTC in Heywood

A 19-year-old man has died following a road traffic collision in Heywood.
At about 10.30pm last night, Friday 18 January, a black VW Passat, which was operating as a taxi, was driving along Manchester Road, near to the junction with Ormerod Street, Heywood, when it was in collision with 19-year-old Scott Kenneth Howatson of Torrington Street, Heywood.
The taxi driver stopped a short distance up the road and called police.
Officers and paramedics attended and took Scott to Fairfield Hospital where he later died.
The driver has been interviewed by police. Inquiries are continuing.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
