Flooding causes train disruption and cancellations
Date published: 23 June 2012
Flooding has caused widespread travel chaos throughout the north of England.
Buses replaced trains between Rochdale and Halifax due to flooding in the Walsden and Hebden Bridge areas, with passengers facing delays of up to an hour.
Intermediate stations between Rochdale and Halifax were closed off altogether as the buses were unable to reach them on the waterlogged roads.
National Rail Enquiries reported several cancellations and service disruptions caused by torrential downpours.
