The Dad’s Activity Day that took place on Saturday 16 June was a great success and we hope to hold another Dad’s Activity Day in the future.

On Tuesday 19 June Mr Khan took the Year 54 children to Wardle High School. They had a fantastic time joining in science investigations and experiments and also a mini Olympics. The children where a credit to us all.

On Monday we had a French Day across school. The children will be developing their French language skills and also their cultural awareness of the country. We hope to have a fun day whilst also teaching to the National Curriculum. Children are invited to wear blue, white and red clothes as per the National Colours of France. Thanks to Miss Nicholson for organising the day and preparing resources for staff to develop.

On Wednesday, as you know many of our children will be joining with friends from Springside for our sponsored walk to raise funds for the British Heart Fund Charity. The children will be walking to Hollingworth Lake and back with staff. If your child usually has a school dinner, please pay as normal and a packed lunch will be provided from the kitchen. If your child usually bring their own packed lunch or goes home, please provide this on Wednesday. Miss Mills has done a superb job organising this for us and you will have seen from her recent letter that the children are invited to wear red clothes. This also needs to include their red school jumper. Please keep your fingers crossed for the weather for us!!

The weather was kind to us on the Hamer Olympics Day that took place on Monday 18 June and everyone enjoyed taking part in all the activities.

Well done to Mrs. Barron’s, Mr. Alexander and Mr. Khan’s classes who are the joint winners of the best attendance award for the week ending 22 June 2012

A reminder that we are now holding our coffee mornings every Thursday morning and all parents are welcome to drop in from 9.00am Please do come along and have a coffee or cup or tea with us and other friends in the community.
