A group of parents from Heywood’s two children’s centres - Derby Street and Woodland have been presented with certificates, after completing a 4 week accredited course.
15 learners from both centres completed the 'Personal Budgeting and Money Management' course and were invited to the presentation.
Kim Brogan, Integrated Children's Centre Team Manager, presented the 7 parents whom attended the presentation with their certificates.
Also in attendance were Stephanie Rush, Economy and Skills Officer at Rochdale Borough Council and Tony Oldham, from EASE, who delivered the course.
Stephanie Rush said: “The Skills Team at the council has got Priority Investment Funding (PIF) to increase the skill levels of Rochdale residents. The aim of the funding is to target unemployed people who are looking to move into employment or further training and who aren't eligible for mainstream funding.
“It also gives people the opportunity to acquire new skills while they are not working so that they are more equipped to find work once they are in a position to do so.
"It was through this funding that we were able to fund the Level 2 in ‘Personal Budgeting and Money Management’ course that was delivered by EASE - part of our framework of training providers.”
