Students from Rochdale Sixth Form College put their voluntary fundraising enrichment course to good use when they organised a series of initiatives to raise funds for Leonard Cheshire Disability charity.
A cake stall, basketball shoot out and raffle were just some of the activities organised, all aimed at raising much-needed funds for the Home based in Honresfeld, which provides information, support and assistance to disabled people. In total, £146 was raised.
George Thomas, Psychology Teacher at Rochdale Sixth Form College comments: “Our fundraising enrichment scheme is an optional course for students, carried out alongside their A Level studies. So, all of the students involved are really passionate about fundraising, and supporting local charities, and picked out Leonard Cheshire Disability as a great cause to get behind.”
Danielle Turner from Leonard Cheshire Disability added: “We’re so pleased Rochdale Sixth Form College decided to support our charity, and this amount will certainly go to good use – and help give disabled people at Honresfeld, who are in need of assistance, the opportunity to live life to the full.”
