Half the staff at Hopwood Hall College are at risk of redundancy
Date published: 19 April 2012
Hopwood Hall College has estimated that it needs to reduce expenditure by at least £1.5m and the Senior Management Team has reviewed all aspects of the 'Business Transformation Plan' in order to identify where further savings can be made.
The College says wherever possible, the cuts are being achieved by streamlining processes and using new technologies etc., however, the College inevitably has to make some redundancies.
The College currently employs 604 staff and of these 324 are deemed ‘at risk’ of redundancy.
The Business Transformation Plan Review is a proposal rather than a definite loss of staff and the College will be consulting with both external and internal stakeholders, including staff and unions, over the next 3 months.
Out of the 324 people ‘at risk’, the College says it is likely that approximately 40 staff will be made redundant after the 90 day consultation period which began yesterday.
