Months after the disappearance of the zip wire from one of the main pieces of play equipment at Balderstone Park, the wire has now be re-installed.
Since the zip wire was delivered as part of a major investment for the park a few years ago, it has proved to be very popular.
Councillor Pat Colclough had noticed this piece of equipment had not only become broken, but the wire had been taken down by the Council to remove the health and safety risk.
This led the Balderstone and Kirkholt councillor to lobby for the return of this apparatus and before the Easter holidays the zip wire was restored, just in time for one of the park's busiest periods of the year.
An overjoyed Councillor Colclough said: "I am thrilled I was able to get the council to restore the zip wire. As a member of the vibrant friends of Balderstone Park group, one of the focuses as a councillor has been to improve the park for the surrounding communities.
"The play area is one of the park's recent successes; but we need to keep this play facility in good nick for all the young people who get great fun out of it. I was glad I was able to put the park's case forward in this instance on behalf of these young people."
