Patients’ Choice Award

Date published: 16 April 2012

The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking nominations from the public for a new special ‘Pennine Patient’s Choice Award’ as part of its Staff Awards 2012.

The Trust’s Staff Awards 2012 is to be held in June. It consists of 12 categories which recognise the very best of patient care, dedication and innovation across the Trust’s five hospitals and its staff.

This is the third year the Trust has held its annual staff awards which are fully paid for and sponsored by external companies and suppliers.

The Trust is inviting the general public to nominate a member of staff or team in a special award category – The Pennine Patients’ Choice Award.

The award gives the general public the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ and publicly recognises the outstanding care and treatment given to either them or a relative or close friend. Members of the public are invited to nominate any nurse, doctor, midwife, therapist, receptionist or other member of staff who has looked after them during an outpatient visit, day treatment or overnight or longer hospital stay. The nominee will have shown exceptional patient care; this could be great kindness, professional expertise or expert patient care.

Staff or a team nominated for The Pennine Patients’ Choice Award will have made that extra effort in caring or treating a patient within the Trust’s hospitals at either The Royal Oldham Hospital, North Manchester General Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, Rochdale Infirmary or Birch Hill Hospital.

All award nominations must be submitted to The Pennine Acute Trust by Thursday 31 May 2012.

To nominate a member of staff, team or ward email ft.membership@pat.nhs.uk , complete an online form on the Trust website at www.pat.nhs.uk/foundationtrust or call Angela Greenwood on 01706 517302.
