Local schoolboy offered contract by Dale

Date published: 12 April 2012

William Blair, aged 8, who attends Holy Trinity Primary School in Littleborough, has been offered a contract by Rochdale Football Club. His quick feet, great work ethic and skills have attracted a host of clubs wanting to give him a trial, including Manchester United.

William is coached by Neil Lucas twice a week at Brazilian Soccer Schools (BSS) in Tameside. Mr Lucas commented: “William is a very composed, skilful player and has really worked hard since joining our soccer school eight months ago after first attending the Leeds BSS since the age of 5.

"Now his effort and tremendous work rate is paying off, although this is only the start of his journey, and although he has been offered a contact with Rochdale FC he will also continue his technical work at our soccer school.”
