Man killed by train at Smithy Bridge

A man was killed when he was hit by the 19.08 Leeds to Manchester train as it passed through Smithy Bridge.
Following a report at 8.15pm, police attended and the body of a deceased man was found.
Police report there are no suspicious circumstances.
The coroner has been informed.
Trains between Rochdale and Hebden Bridge are being delayed by up to 20 minutes. These delays will continue until the end of service.
Trains are currently unable to call at Smithy Bridge.
A normal service is expected to run in the morning (Saturday) between Rochdale and Hebden Bridge.
