Fire-fighters deal with large grass fire

Four fire crews were called to a large grass fire on open land near to Hopwood Hall College, Rochdale Road, Middleton at 1.20pm on Sunday (25 March).
When they arrived the crews found a fire which had affected a large area of grass and some trees adjacent to a golf course which the 20 fire-fighters dealt with using water jets, backpack sprayers and beaters.
Crews from Littleborough, Rochdale and Blackley fire stations attended.
