Date published: 22 March 2012
Police have released images of two men they are keen to trace following the murder of John Barrett in Rochdale.
In total, 13 people have been charged and remanded in custody following an investigation by Greater Manchester Police into the fatal stabbing.
At about 2.40am on Sunday 25 December 2011, police were called to Sinclair's Bar on Drake Street, Rochdale, following reports of a large disturbance.
Officers attended and discovered a man had been stabbed.
John Lee Barrett, 31, was taken to hospital but died on Tuesday 27 December 2011.
Now police have released two images taken from Sinclair’s Bar CCTV of two men wanted in connection with the death of Mr Barrett.
Detective Chief Inspector Pete Jackson from the Major Incident Team said "Despite last week’s arrests and charges, the investigation is still very much ongoing.
“We believe the two men pictured in the images played some part in the incident that led to the death of John Barrett and I would urge anyone who recognises them to contact police.
“Take a good look at the CCTV. Were you in the club at the time of the incident? Did you see either of these two men in Sinclair’s or leaving in the early hours of Christmas Day? If you did, we are keen to speak to you. The information you supply will be treated with the strictest of confidence.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 4711 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
