BIKE-IT – Thursdays!
Anyone coming to school on their bike or scooter will be given a free raffle ticket to go in the draw for a new bike at the end of the year. Those children who come on their bikes on a Thursday can have a free breakfast as long as they are in no later than 8.30am.
If they come on their bike any other day they will be given a raffle ticket but free breakfasts will only be given on a Thursday.

Glee Club:
Glee Club has now finished.

Football Tournament:
Well done to the children who took part in the football tournament yesterday at Matthew Moss. Our teams came 1, 2 and 4.

St. Martin’s Church:
This year school will be learning about Easter through activities at church. KS2 children are going to St. Martin’s on Monday and KS1 on Tuesday.

St. Eddies Got Talent:
Youth Club are having a talent competition on Monday 7-8pm. If children want to come and watch, they must be accompanied by an adult.

Get your Child’s Hair Cut and Help to Raise Money for School:
If any child from our school has their hair cut at Regalia Hair on Manchester Road, the owner Ruth has generously offered to donate all the takings to school funds. Cuts are £5 for 1 child; £8 for 2 children; £12 for 3 children and £18 for 4 children. If you would like to book an appointment, phone Ruth on 346347.

Year 2 Trip:
On Wednesday Year 2 are going on a trip to the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester.

Dinner Money:
Please send money on a Monday, in an envelope with your child’s name and class on. Next week we are on Week 2.

Music Lessons:
Please send any outstanding music fees into school by next Friday at the latest. Thank you.

Easter Bingo – Wednesday 28 March:
Come and join us for an evening of fun. Doors open 6pm; eyes down 6.15pm. Entrance: 50p child; £1 adult; £2 family ticket (2 adults + 2/3 children). Entrance includes a drink of juice and a biscuit). Books £1 + flyers. Lots of prizes to be won.
There will also be prizes for the best Easter Bonnets for adults and children.
If anyone has any raffle prizes they could donate, we would be very grateful.

Up-to-date Mobile Numbers:
It is extremely important that you ensure you keep school up-to-date with any change in mobile phone numbers.

Castleton Children’s Centre:
The free ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ are here at St. Edward’s on Wednesday mornings 9.30am-10.30am. Please come and join us – you will be made very welcome.

St. Aidan’s Spring Fair
Thank you to all those people who supported St. Aidan’s Spring Fair which raised £885.76.

Sports Relief:
On Friday 30th March, each year group will be walking around the school field (7 times = 1 mile). Children can come to school in sports wear and we are asking for a donation of 50p which will go to Sports Relief. If any parents would like to join us for a donation of £1, you are more than welcome. There will be a timetable on next week’s newsletter of when each year group is doing their walk.
