Pay Policy Statement passed

Rochdale Council’s Pay Policy Statement has been approved by councillors at a meeting of Full Council.
The statement identifies the detail and the level of pay for the Council’s most senior managers and the detail and level of pay for the lowest level of employee.
It shows the level of pay for the Council’s most senior managers as follows:
- Chief Executive - £125,000 - £130,000
- Executive Directors - £91,464 - £120,051
- Service Directors:
Grade 1 - £61,536 - £71,376
Grade 2 - £75,151 - £84,991
It states that Executive Director and Service Director posts have access to the Council’s Car Allowance Scheme, where the relevant criteria are evidences in accordance with the scheme provisions.
The lowest paid post of the Council is:
- Grade 1 – £12,312 to £13,189
The statement also states that the method by which salaries and severance payments are determined is by the National Joint Council pay spine for grading and basic salary level determination.
The statement does not include information with regard to the pay of teachers or support staff in schools.
The publication of a pay policy statement by 1 April 2012 is a requirement of Section 8 of the Localism Act 2011.
