Council to bring some services back in house
Date published: 20 March 2012
Rochdale Borough Council will bring some services ‘in house’ that are currently delivered by the Impact Partnership following a decision by full council on Monday night (19 March).
Councillors agreed in principle to a proposal developed jointly with Mouchel and Agilisys to move highways, property, payroll and elements of ICT services to the council, whilst Agilisys will continue to provide the contact centre and remaining elements of ICT.
The council is also exploring delivering further services within the Agilisys contact centre, related to helping resident’s access services more effectively.
Council Leader Colin Lambert said: “Discussions are still ongoing, so the completion date when we take full responsibility for these services is yet to be confirmed, and subject to all the arrangements being finalised.
“The original contract included targets for the delivery of jobs growth which have become increasingly difficult to achieve under the global recession, and this, together with our push for even further efficiencies, are the key drivers behind these final recommendations.”
Staff who work for the affected services are being briefed on the proposals today (Tuesday).
