Double, double toil and trouble at sixth form

Date published: 18 March 2012

Thirty three students from Rochdale Sixth Form College took a night off from their studies to attend a performance of Macbeth at the Octagon Theatre, in Bolton, last week.

The trip for AS and A2 students studying English Literature and Drama and Theatre Studies, was also attended by students from the Honours Programme, an initiative designed to stretch the academically gifted.

Laura Ainscow, Teacher of Drama and Theatre Studies at the College, said:  “This was a great opportunity for the students to see Shakespeare performed live, an experience which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

“We were thrilled to see the students’ enthusiasm for the performance and their love of theatre making, and I’m sure the trip will prove useful when it comes to bringing the text to life in their written exams at the end of the year.”
