BIKE-IT – Thursdays!
Don’t forget Bike-It Thursdays. Anyone coming to school on their bike or scooter will be given a free raffle ticket to go in the draw for a new bike at the end of the year. Those children who come on their bikes on a Thursday can have a free breakfast as long as they are in no later than 8.30am.
If they come on their bike any other day they will be given a raffle ticket but free breakfasts will only be given on a Thursday.

Rochdale Football Club:
Rochdale Football Club have been in school this week doing football skills with the children which finished with a penalty Shoot-Out.
There will be the following prizes for sponsor money raised:
£10 raised – Rochdale Goody Bag
£15 raised – Family tickets to a Rochdale Saturday Home Game (2 adults/2 juniors)
£20 raised – Autographed Rochdale AFC Football.

St. Aidan’s Spring Fair:
St. Aidan’s Spring Fair is this Saturday, 17 March 11-1pm. Lots of stalls including books, plants, Homebake, toys, tombola. Everyone welcome.

Thank You:
We would like to say a Big Thank You to all those parents and grandparents who came to help at the Cookathon last week. All the children took part and it was a really enjoyable day for everyone.

Year 1 require:
Can you please send in any cereal boxes and kitchen roll tubes for Year 1 – they are going to be making castles. Thank you.

Emergency Services:
On Monday afternoon Reception are having a visit from the Police as part of their emergency services topic. The Fire Brigade will be visiting next Tuesday afternoon.

Year 5 Gardening Project:
Any donations of the following would be gratefully received:
Vegetable seeds; attractive plant pots; unwanted wind chimes; mosaic tiles; bedding plants; garden ornaments; windmills; old car tyres; pebbles; shells; sprigs; screws; nuts and bolts. Thank you.

Get Your Child’s Hair Cut and Help to Raise Money for School:
If any child from our school has their hair cut at Regalia Hair on Manchester Road, the owner Ruth has generously offered to donate all the takings to school funds. Cuts are £5 for 1 child; £8 for 2 children; £12 for 3 children and £18 for 4 children. If you would like to book an appointment, phone Ruth on 346347.

Dinner Money:
Lunches are now £1.80 per day - £9.00 per week. Please send money on a Monday, in an envelope with your child’s name and class on. Next week we are on Week 1.

Music Lessons:
Fees for this half term are now due. Lessons are £2.85 per week. Fees must be paid weekly in order for lessons to continue. Please also send any outstanding music fees into school as soon as possible. Thank you.

Easter Bingo – Wednesday 28 March:
Come and join us for an evening of fun. Doors open 6pm; eyes down 6.15pm. Entrance: 50p child; £1 adult; £2 family ticket (2 adults + 2/3 children). Entrance includes a drink of juice and a biscuit). Books £1 + flyers. Lots of prizes to be won.
There will also be prizes for the best Easter Bonnets for adults and children.
If anyone has any raffle prizes they could donate, we would be very grateful.

Text Messaging Service:
We are continuing to use our text messaging service and in some cases, instead of sending letters out. Therefore it is extremely important that you ensure you keep school up-to-date with any change in mobile phone numbers.
If you did not receive the text about the school closures, please inform school to check that we have the right mobile numbers.

Castleton Children’s Centre:
The free ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ are here at St. Edward’s on Wednesday mornings 9.30am-10.30am. Please come and join us. You will be made very welcome.
