Fieldway Complex residents celebrate parking victory
Fieldway residents are celebrating after Rochdale Council agreed to issue a traffic order to deal with the ongoing problems they’ve been having at the entrance of the complex.
Councillor Pat Colclough, said: "I am pleased the Resources Committee were able to see there was a need for this traffic order.
“There is a problem at this corner at the main entrance into the Fieldway Complex and this proposal should improve things.
“It was also great that so many Fieldway residents were able to come along to the Town Hall to support this proposal."
She added: "Hopefully this will mean the access into Fieldway will be better for both local residents who drive and for emergency vehicles. I also stated to the committee that Broad Lane residents also will still be able to park around the area.
"Finally, the next step I will pursue is to look at extra parking provision in front of the Resources Centre to help this situation further. There has now been a scheme developed which has been costed and a bid will go forward to the Township in the next financial year."
