Nurseries invited to step up for ‘Teddy Toddle’

Date published: 09 March 2012

Nurseries, crèches and playgroups from across Rochdale are being invited to get involved in the Teddy Toddle to raise vital funds for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital charity.

The Teddy Toddle is a short sponsored walk specially designed for under fives, which will take place on Wednesday 9 May 2012. Nurseries and playgroups can organise their own fun filled event with a Teddy Toddle being able to take place in many different locations such as at the nursery, at the park or even in a local church hall.

As part of the Teddy Toddle everyone who registers to take part will be entered in to a free prize draw that will see two lucky organisations winning a visit from the charity mascot Humphrey Bear plus a bumper pack of goodies courtesy of Ryman.

Angela Harris, Community and Events Fundraising Manager, said: “Teddy Toddle is a great and fun event for children under 5. Toddlers and pre-schoolers will love the excitement and exercise associated with a short, fun sponsored walk (or pram push!), as well as the sense of achievement gained in getting sponsorship from family and friends that will help other children.”

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital charity is raising money to ensure continued excellence in treatment, care and research at the hospital – improving the lives of children throughout the North West and beyond.

The support of the charity means that the hospital can provide additional resources that make life easier for patients and their families who use the hospital.

The charity has three main areas of work: To support research projects to improve our understanding of children’s illness; To help create an environment that’s more child friendly and to provide state of the art equipment for diagnosis and treatment
