New divisional commander for Rochdale

Date published: 05 March 2012

Annette Anderson is the new Chief Superintendent of Greater Manchester Police’s Rochdale Division.

She replaces John O’Hare, who leaves the borough to take command of GMP’s Specialist Operations Branch.

Chief Superintendent Anderson, who took command of Rochdale on 1 March 2012, joined GMP in 2004 and has worked her way up the ranks.

She started her policing career in the Metropolitan Police in 1993, and transferred to GMP’s South Manchester Division as an inspector.

Chief Superintendent Anderson was soon promoted to chief inspector for operations on the Metropolitan Division, and then later worked as a superintendent in Salford.

Chief Superintendent Anderson said: “My recent appointment as divisional commander is a great honour for me.

“I am hoping to build on the good work of my predecessor, John O’Hare, with a view to driving forward the excellent reductions in crime and working in partnership with Rochdale Council and other agencies to provide the best possible service to the residents of the borough.”
