I know what humility means.
We strive to instil within the children a sense of belonging within a range of communities and for them to play an active role as members of society.
Sacramental programme:
Children on the sacramental programme are invited to attend mass today (Saturday 3 March) at 5.30pm at St. John’s RC Church as part of the preparation for Confirmation and First Holy Communion.
St. Joseph’s Penny:
Charity boxes were sent home with the children for the annual St. Joseph’s Penny collection in aid of children in need. Thank you for your generous donations.
Also as part of our journey through Lent we are inviting the children to wear something purple on Friday and to opt for a ‘live simply’ rice meal at lunch time.
Fair Trade assembly:
Class 5 introduced an assembly on Tuesday morning and gave a talk on
Fair Trade.
Parents meetings:
Parents meetings for classes 1 to 5 will take place on Monday 5 March and
Friday 9 March in the main school hall between 1 and 4pm.
Class 6 will have their meetings all day Friday 9 March with morning sessions being held in the meeting room and afternoon sessions in the main school hall.
Bikeability:
Class 5 will have been taking their road safety tests during this week.
On completion of the test children received a certificate of competence.
Charles Dickens 200 year celebrations:
Classes 3, 4 and 6 attended the Central Library for presentations to mark the anniversary of Charles Dickens in order to create an awareness of the works of this important author.
Sports:
We took third place in the Hockey tournament played last week between six schools throughout the borough. Well done team, you played very well.
Golden book awards:
The Golden Book awards are for children have tried their best in all areas with politeness and respect.

Class 3: Linda and Natalia
Class 4: Leonardo and Wisdom
Class 5: Helvis and Farhano
Class 6: Jack and Kasandra
Certificate Awards:
Awards for last week went to Class 2 for highest attendance and Class 1 for good behaviour in and around the school.
